This week we looked at the “one another” statements in Peter’s letter to a scattered and persecuted church. We do not face the same struggles as the church in Peter’s day, but the principles of how we are to treat each other in the church remain the same. We are to love one another to the same depth as the wounds from sin. Hospitality looks more like a hospital than sharing coffee and cookies. We all serve hurting people in the church with the gift of our words and our actions. As we care for each other in this way, we need to learn to care for our neighbours outside the church walls: we the wounded, taking care of the wounded, inviting others who are wounded to find healing.
