We are so excited to be running two mini camps this summer! Kids can attend one or both camps because the content will be mostly different for the two. We’ll be basing both camps off of the Shine Curriculum “Seekers in Sneakers” VBS material. It’s all about who Jesus is and what he’s like—a learner, a teacher, a helper, and more! If you want to know more about what your kids will be learning, you can check out an overview of that curriculum here: https://shinecurriculum.com/samples/seekers-in-sneakers-vbs/

Schedule:
8:45-9:15 AM – Drop-Off, Welcome Activity
9:15-9:45 AM – Singing and intro to the topic of the day
9:45 AM-12 PM – Activity Stations (Bible story, active games, arts & science projects, snack)
12:00-12:20 – Lunch break (packed lunches)
12:20-2:30 PM – Field Trip
2:30-3:00 PM – Recap of the day, closing song
3:00 PM – Pick up

Field Trips
The afternoon field trips will be things like going to the Mill Lake Park splash pad and playground to taking a trip to the zoo or going mini-golfing. All field trip costs are included in the cost of camp.

*Note: the exact field trips haven’t been finalized yet. We’ll let you know at least the week before so that you know how to prepare for the day!

Camp Ages
These camps are being offered for kids going into grades 1-5. If your child is younger than that, you can sign them up for the mornings only option, pending approval by EMC staff. We may require a parent/guardian to accompany younger children.

Registration Process
To sign up, fill out this online form: https://forms.gle/sGouvMTxkbXwmtJb7

Once we’ve received your online sign-up, we’ll send you an email with any follow-up questions. Attached to that email will be the comprehensive liability waiver. One waiver must be completed for each child attending. You can either scan and email the completed forms to rachel@emmanuelmennonite.com or drop the physical copies off at our office (3471 Clearbrook Road) during office hours (9:00 AM-5:30 PM, Monday-Friday).

Payment
Cost: $50 per camp (full days), $25 per camp (mornings only)
Payment can be made in one of three ways:
– Cash dropped off at the church office
– Cheque made out to Emmanuel Mennonite Church, dropped off at the church office

Sign-up closes on July 1 for Mini Camp 1 and on August 1 for Mini Camp 2.
Waiver forms and payment are due by July 14 for Mini Camp 1 and August 14 for Mini Camp 2.

FAQ
Q: Is lunch provided? What about other food?
A: Lunch is not provided. If your child is attending the full day camp, please pack a peanut-free lunch. We will provide one other snack.

Q: My child has a friend who doesn’t attend the church, but would like to come to camp. Can they sign up, too?
A: Absolutely! Our camps are open to all kids! Feel free to send the link to this page to anyone you know who might be interested.

Q: My child has a physical or mental condition that makes some activities difficult for them. Can they still come to camp?
A: Of course! You’ll be asked in the sign-up form to describe anything that could limit your child’s participation or require accommodation. Once we have that information, we’ll do our best to adjust our planning so that it works for everyone! That’s also part of why we aren’t finalizing our field trips yet; we want to make sure no one feels left out because they can’t participate in what we have planned!

Q: Who will be running this camp? Can I trust them with my child?
A: All of our staff and volunteers are required to complete a criminal record check. Additionally, we do Child Safe training with our staff and volunteers to ensure we are meeting every standard to keep your children safe and feeling safe!
